Norman Anselmi, 78, of Coal Valley, passed away Saturday, December 26, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, IA.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A private funeral service will be held at this time. The service will be livestreamed Saturday, January 2, 2021, at 1:00 pm and can be found on Norman’s obituary page at www.esterdahl.com. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.
Norman was born on August 15, 1942 in Greensboro, NC, the son of Andy and Allegra (Oetting) Anselmi. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1960 to 1962. Norman married the love of his life Mary Garcia on October 28, 1972 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline. He was a master gardener and birdwatcher. He was a crossword and mopar enthusiast as well as a Ham Radio Operator. He used to volunteer for many organizations such as Nahant Marsh, Riverside Garden Center, and RCND distributing books for children. In his younger years, he enjoyed building engines and working on cars. Mary and Norm loved sitting around drinking coffee with family and friends telling stories and passing on memories.
Survivors include his children, Crystal (John) Burnett, Troy Anselmi, Matthew (Jenn) Anselmi; son-in-law, Larry Ward; grandchildren: Jeremy, Melissa, Paris, Hunter, Andrew, Chase, Shaunie, Zander, Maddux, Christopher; great grandchildren: Lillian, Graclyn, Brinley, Addyson, Avery, Houston, Chandler, Carter, Bentliegh; siblings: Nola Warren, Marilyn (Bob) McDonald, Mike Anselmi, and Gil Anselmi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Anselmi; son, Daniel, daughters, Allegra and Carmela.
