Norman Potter

Norman Potter, age 91, of Silvis, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Parkway Manor, Marion, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 21st Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens where Military Honors will be performed by Moline American Legion Post # 246. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or to Alzheimer's Association.

Norman was born on October 29, 1921, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Orlando and Elsie (Lelonek) Potter. He married Luella Hintz on October 4, 1942, in Memphis, MO. She preceded him in death on September 9, 2004. Norman served in the United States Army and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline and a Life Member of East Moline American Legion Post #0227 and East Moline V.F.W. Norman was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #25 and owned Wolverton Plumbing Co., Silvis, for over 45 years, retiring in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, John Potter and Richard Potter; sisters, Edith Kinnamon, Ethel Krauel, Darlene Wallace, and Dorothy Walt.
