Norman Keith Teter

Norman Keith Teter, 94, of Silvis, IL, passed away, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Silvis Center for Nursing Rehab and Care.

Visitation to be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at Saint Anns Catholic Church Cemetery, Long Grove, IA, at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the family.

Norman was born on August 11, 1931, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Fay Parker and Bertha L. (Boyd) Teter. He married Shirley Crady at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Milan, IL, on January 29, 1955. Norman was a US Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He then worked as a branch chief for the Rock Island Arsenal for 36 years before retiring. He was a member of the Masonic Order. Norman loved the outdoors and stayed active until his early 90’s. He especially liked to golf but also enjoyed fishing for bass and crappie. Norman often spent his winters in Texas and loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Teter; son, Norman Kim (Cindee) Teter; sister, Judy Hartman; half-brother, John Teter; grandchildren, Autumn Teter, Jasmine (Todd) North, Jamie (Dawnn) Teter; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fay Gene; sister, Bonnie Bopes; son, Kevin Eugene Teter.
