Norman Uhde

Norman Uhde Jr, 84, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his residence.

Cremation rites have been accorded.   Memorial visitation will be from 1-3 pm, Saturday, May 8, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Animal Shelter.  In accordance with restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a face mask and observe social distancing.

Norman was born on May 22, 1936 in Davenport, IA, the son of Herman Norman Sr. and Helen Bertha (McCabe) Uhde. He married Gleyn Ann Douglass on October 22, 1971 in Bettendorf, IA.  He first worked as a metallurgist technician for Farmal for 22 years.  He later worked as a physical science technician at Rock Island Arsenal for 16 years.

Survivors include his wife, children, Tobie (Bill) Doy, Moline, Adam Uhde, Rock Island, John (Judy) Uhde, Ames, Beth Longlett, Davenport; grandchildren, Bree, Cammi, Phillip, Katie, Jamie, Brittany, Bryan, and McKenna.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Nickolas Justin Uhde.
