Novella J. Wicks

Novella J. Wicks, 66, of Moline, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus.

A service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline.  Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be given to the family.

Novella was born on June 30, 1957, in Moline, the daughter of Gene and Alice Wendall Drish.  She married Kirk Wicks on October 18, 1980, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2014.

Novella was currently employed as a receptionist with Shipman Chiropractic in Davenport.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic in Moline where she was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.  Novella was an amazing cook and truly loved being a mom and grandma.

She is survived by her children Douglas (Anna) Wicks and Natalie Wicks; grandchildren Maddie and Jayden; nieces; Jennifer Bartz and D'Ann Lorentzen; nephews Kyle, Grant, Dane, and Seth Wicks; and her buddy Oliver who loved to go to work with her.

Novella was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
