Ona L. Johnson

Ona L. Johnson, age 86, of Moline, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Trinity, Rock Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 21st Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Ona was born on February 26, 1926 in Jefferson City, MO, the daughter of John and Addie (Gaddie) Sutton. She married Alvin Charles Sheffler in 1943 in Moline. He was killed in 1945 while serving in WWII. She later married Paul H. Johnson on September 2, 1952 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2005. Ona worked as a bookkeeper for several different businesses. Her last position was at Huebotter's furniture store. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and King's Daughters. Ona was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing cards with her golf buddies during the off season. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events as they were growing up.
