Pam J. Young

Pamela “Pam” Jean Young, 71, of Rock Island, passed away, Saturday, February 12, 2022, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

She was born on May 28, 1950, in Davenport, the daughter of Lawrence P. and Ellen (King) Forsythe. She married Kenneth Young on December 13, 1975, in Moline. He preceded her in death in March of 2017.  She earned her bachelor’s in education from Western Illinois University. Pam was previously employed as a special education teacher with the Rockridge School District #300 for 35 years. She enjoyed spending her time traveling, working on crossword puzzles and reading.

Survivors include her siblings, Jim (Diana) Forsythe, Richard (Brenda) Forsythe, Rodney (Chris) Forsythe, Penny (Rod) Cleek; and stepdaughter, Cindy.

She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter Cathy, parents and husband.
