Pamela Sue Engstrom, 66, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away April 23, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, after a four-and-a-half-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday May 2, 2025, at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday May 1, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. A celebration of life gathering will follow the burial from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Johnny's Steakhouse, Moline, IL.

Pamela was born on September 21, 1958, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of John Ellison and Marge Peterson. She attended Bettendorf schools and later moved to Moline in 1974. She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Moline. Pam married Robert T. Engstrom on January 21, 1976, at First Congregational Church, Moline. She graduated from Moline High School in 1977 and later from the University of Northern Iowa in 1981. She had previously been employed as a substitute teacher with the Bettendorf, Davenport, and Riverdale school systems, retiring in 1997.
Pam was a member of First Congregational Church in Moline. She was an active PTA member and former president in Pleasant Valley. She enjoyed boating on the Mississippi and served as Bob’s first mate. She also liked traveling to Florida, spending time on the beach, and gardening. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Pam was very proud of her family and their accomplishments and enjoyed more than anything spending time with them. She always made birthday and holiday celebrations extra special for each family member. Pam never met a person she could not be-friend. She touched many lives through her generous, loving, caring and kind actions.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; children, Monica (Joe) Van Vooren of Bettendorf and Daniel (Michelle) Engstrom of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Bobby Chiarelli, Hudson Engstrom, and Alivia Engstrom; siblings, Cindy (Dave) Franklin of Moline and Joe (Terri) Ellison of Bettendorf; many special nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Emmitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, John Peterson; and brother, Paul Ellison.
