Pamela S. Smith

Pamela S. Smith, 83, of Moline, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at her home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Pamela was born on October 24, 1942, in Carbondale, IL, the daughter of Bernard W. and Evelyn H. (Culley) Short. She married Jerry L. Smith in Moline on March 6, 1965. Pamela was a member of the former First Christian Church in Moline. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi, an active volunteer for numerous organizations, and a Longaberger consultant for many years. Pamela enjoyed baking, dancing, roller-skating, and she loved music.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; children, Michelle Talbot of Moline, IL and Charles (Marianne) Smith of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Isaac Siess, Ryder Talbot, and Hadley Talbot; brother, Michael (Patricia) Short of Buford, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Short.
