Patricia Edith Maitlen

Patricia Edith Maitlen, 88, of Moline moved to Heaven on Monday April 17, 2023, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., prior to the services at the funeral home. The burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to Faith Walk World Outreach Center.

Pat was born on June 15, 1934, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Hancil and Edna (Inskeep) Hillyer. At the age of 15, Patricia played for the revival services at Rock Island High School which lasted for over six weeks. She married Edwin Wayne Maitlen on October 13, 1951, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2023. Patricia was the former cafeteria manager at Washington Elementary and the lead pianist at Von Maur in Davenport for 15 years. She was a member of the former Moline Gospel Temple where she was a 7th grade Sunday School teacher and played for the cantatas and church services. She also played the piano at Living Hope in Davenport and East Moline Assembly of God. In later years she was affiliated with Faith Walk World Outreach Center in Silvis. After retirement she would volunteer at River Crossing and Amber Ridge Memory Care playing for the residents. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Alan (Diane) Maitlen, Moline, Kerry (Tricia) Maitlen, Moline, Pamela (Michael) Hofstetter, Hampton, Faith Kruger, Geneseo, Timothy Maitlen, Moline; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria (Ernie) Rushing, Sue (Mike) Harkert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; parents; son-in-law, Kurtis Kruger; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Maitlen; great grandchildren, Asher and Elsie; sister, Carol Buller.
