Paul W. Brooks

Paul W. Brooks, 76, of Moline, passed away Tuesday July 16, 2024, at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday July 22, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday July 21, 2024, at the funeral home. The burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to Grace Anglican Church for the Pavilion Fund or to Unity Point Hospice.

Paul was born on September 14, 1947, in Chadron, Nebraska, the son of Fredrick and Mardell (Wease) Brooks. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Air Force. Paul married Diane J. Kremer on December 2, 1972, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rock Island. He was a member of Grace Anglican Church, Galesburg. Paul served as an Anglican Deacon with the Diocese of Quincy, having been ordained December 6, 1997.

Paul retired from Deere & Company after 31 years on September 30, 2009, where he worked as a computer programmer. While at Deere he was known as the “Godfather of the DTAC System” which he was very proud of. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters who were the delight of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Diane; son, Rob (Kimberly) Brooks, Moline; daughter, Kara (Ian) Fuller, Rock Island; granddaughters, Elizabeth Brooks, Payton Fuller, Phoebe Fuller.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to thank Unity Point Hospice for the loving care they gave Paul and his family.
