Peggy Sue Hancks, 82, of Davenport, IA, peacefully went to be with her Lord Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
A private graveside service will be held at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Oscar "Zeke" Hancks. Memorials may be made to Northpine Church of God, Davenport, IA. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Peggy was born on December 27, 1933, in Lebanon, MO, the daughter of Bert Nathan and Anna Ruth Olsen Branham. She married Oscar "Zeke" Hancks on October 15, 1955, in Rock Island, IL, and he preceded her in death on October 15, 1998. She lived her entire life doing for others, never herself. She was a founding member of the Northpine Church of God and loved going to church where she sang and played piano.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Marti (Larry) Hulslander, MI; sons, Rob and Randy (Beth) Davenport, IA; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Covemaker; brother, Donald (Mary) Branham; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar "Zeke"; son, Warren James; brothers, John "Johnny", Ray, Paul, Floyd "Buster"; sisters, Jewel Rhoden, Hazel Rush, Doris Foley, and Wanda Meeks.
