Peggy Lou (Scott) Fosdyck, 95, of East Moline, passed away, September 16, 2024, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday September 28, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or a favorite charity.
Peggy Lou Scott was born in Moline, IL on October 24th, 1928, to Jesse Clayton Scott and Effie Marie Carlson Scott. She attended Willard Grade School, John Deere Junior High, and Moline Senior High, graduating in 1946. She attended classes at Moline Community College, now known as Black Hawk College. Her first job was for Frank Foundries, Moline, part-time while still in school and part-time after graduation. After briefly working at Pipe Insurance, she joined Beling Consultants, INC in 1953. She worked at Beling in secretarial, marketing, and corporate positions until her retirement in 1989.
Peggy married William F. Brasmer in 1948 and later divorced. Her daughter, Lynn Diane Brasmer, was born in 1950. In 1974, Peggy married Joseph E. Fosdyck, and they enjoyed 41 years together until his death in 2015. Peggy and Joe enjoyed traveling. They visited most of the United States with frequent visits to Colorado, a favorite vacation spot.
Peggy was a member of the former Moline Gospel Temple, now River City Church, beginning in 1953. She served as a Sunday School teacher, youth worker, deaconess, and in various other capacities. She was most recently a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Lynn Diane Brasmer Stockley (Steve), Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandson, Joshua Paul Stockley (Sheryl) and granddaughter, Rachel Leah Stockley; three great grandchildren; stepdaughter, Patricia Fosdyck Crosby (Bing) and stepson, Joseph Michael Fosdyck; two step grandchildren; eight step great grandchildren; many step great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Kay Cary, East Moline, and a brother James Carl Scott, Silvis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Nancy Jean Smith.
