Peggy S. Rhoades, 55, of Orion, IL, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Peggy has asked for memorials to be made to the family.
Peggy was born on April 16, 1959, in Moline, IL, the daughter of George Richard and Gloria (Ledbetter) Stiles. She married Steven Jerry Rhoades, her high school sweetheart, on June 25, 1977, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rock Island and he preceded her in death on January 9, 2014.
Peggy worked as a school bus driver for the Orion School District from 1993 - 2014. She was also the Orion High School Pom Pom Team coach. She was very active with Heritage Church and their special events. Peggy enjoyed being active in the outdoors; fishing, hiking, camping; and riding motorcycles. She was a member of the Women's ASA Stinger's of Orion and a huge Iowa Hawkeye fan. More than anything, she very much loved the time she spent with her beloved family.
