Pere R. Engstrom, 76, of Silvis, formerly of East Moline, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Lighthouse of Silvis, Silvis, Illinois.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and services will be held at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Pere was born on October 31, 1937, in Moline, IL, the son of John C. and Evelyn M. (Pearson) Engstrom. He married Lois A. Heitshusen on May 1, 1971, in Williamsburg, IA, and she preceded him in death on November 28, 2006.
Pere worked as a machinist for Caterpillar. He was a car fanatic and raced cars in Cordova.
