Pittrena M. Farwell

Tina Mae Farwell, 67, of Orion, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday,
December 31, 2012, at Trinity Terrace Park, Bettendorf after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion, IL at 10 a.m. Saturday,
January 5, 2012, with internment at Western Township Cemetery, Orion, IL to follow. Visitation is from
4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2012, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion, IL. Kirk, Huggins and Esterdahl Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be made out to St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Tina was born January 6, 1945, in Moline, IL, to Leland and Evelyn (Beale) Hamarstrom. She graduated from Orion High School in 1963 and later was very active in organizing with the Reunion Committee. She married Ron Farwell on September 16, 1967, in Orion. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2009. Tina worked at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline as a parts scheduler before taking time off to raise her family. In 1981 she returned to work as a secretary for the Orion High School Cooperative Education program. Throughout her career she worked with many different programs within the school district. She retired in 1999 to a life of golf, cross word puzzles, bowling, lunch with friends and family, vacations and multiple card clubs. She was a member of the Orion Community Band, St. Paul Friendly Stitchers and most recently held the position of treasurer at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Orion, IL, where she was a member. Tina was a member of the Clover Circle and Vice President of WELCA.

She is survived by her children, Ronald II (Natalie) Farwell, Orion, IL; Ed (Rachel) Farwell,
Bettendorf, IA; brother Jeff (Shirley) Hamarstrom, Burlington, IA; and sister Charmaine
Morse, Rock Island, IL; grandchildren, Dean, Olivia, Courtney and Leah in addition to multiple
nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband.
