Ralph Vincent French III

Ralph Vincent French III, 77, of Colona, passed away Monday September 29, 2025, at his home.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday October 3, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Graveside services will be held with military honors to be conducted.

Ralph was born on November 16, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Ralph V. and Kathleen (Hayden) French Jr. He served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, having been stationed in Hawaii. He married Cynthia Findlay on May 6, 1978, at the former Aldersgate Methodist Church in Moline. He had worked as a salesman at MOTOR Information Systems retiring in 2013, after 15 years. He enjoyed spending time with old friends and customers. Ralph loved traveling, swimming, watching sports with his grandson and attending his grandkids’ sporting events. He was extremely family-oriented and was happiest spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; daughter, Summer (J.R.) Smith; grandchildren, Rachel, Katie, Mason, Stella; sister, Renee (Randy) Hull; brother, Russell French; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph V. French Jr; mother, Kathleen Gartner; stepfather, Martin Gartner; and brother, Ronald Gartner.
