Randy M. Horine, 88, of Moline, IL passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at his residence.
Cremation rites will be accorded, and inurnment will take place at Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster, MD at a later date to be announced. Memorials may be made to Seton Catholic School in Moline, IL. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., is assisting the family with services.
Randy was born May 31, 1933, in Baltimore, MD. the son of Randolph and Inez Cullison Horine. In high school he was quite the athlete playing basketball and baseball at Westminster High, graduating in 1952. The next chapters of his life included college at University of North Carolina, which was interrupted by two years of service in the U.S. Army, Fort Benning, GA. After completing his military commitment, Randy graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, NY. He then relocated to Moline to begin his photography career employed by Deere & Company, where he retired in 1987 as Director of the Photo Finishing Department.
His annual trips to Maui were legendary. His “secret” recipe grilled chicken and tropical drinks will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his daughter Karen (Steve) Hanna of Riverdale, Iowa; son Mitch Horine of Ocean City, Maryland; sister Charlotte (Jim) Schmidt of White Stone, Virginia; grandchildren Rachel Hanna Box and Dustin Hanna; many great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his former wife, Ailene Long, Ocean City, Maryland.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Inez Horine and sister, Linda Horine Hendrix.
