Richard Abraham, 86, of Muscatine, IA, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Lutheran Homes Society, Muscatine, IA.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. The family will hold a private Graveside Service at Greenview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Richard was born on November 10, 1927, in Des Moines, IA, the son of Orrem and Goldie (Rhodes) Boley. He served in the United States Navy from 1945 - 1948. He married Beverly J. Widell on September 24, 1949, in Rock Island, IL, and she preceded him in death on May 12, 1995.
Richard worked as a welding foreman at Rock Island Arsenal for 27 years, retiring in 1983. He belonged to the NRA and loved the outdoors. In his early years, he enjoyed boating, snow and water skiing. Richard enjoyed blacksmithing and fishing on the Mississippi River. He loved spending time with his fellow mountain men and life on Campbell's Island. Richard also enjoyed spending time helping Matt on the farm and watching Matt team roping.

He was preceded in death by his birth parents; his sister, Alene Heston; and Lucille and Chuck Botkin, who raised Richard.
