Richard “Pee Wee” Stiles passed away Friday, May 13, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Please join the family for a celebration of life party at the Davenport Elks Club, 4400 West Central Park, on Thursday, May 19th, 12-4 pm. The family has requested casual or St. Louis Cardinal attire.

Richard Vinson Stiles was born June 6, 1938 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Hallie M. and George E. Stiles. Following graduation from Davenport High School in 1956 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp.

He was previously married to Priscilla Stoefen and they had three children. On May 29, 1974 he married the love of this life, Kathy Long, and welcomed two more sons into his family.

Pee Wee was an avid sports fan and a gifted athlete. He was a starting outfielder for the 1967 Harrelson Motors World Champion fastpitch softball team. He was later inducted into the International Softball Congress Hall of Fame. Pee Wee also golfed with a great group of guys for over 40 years and cherished those times. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Iowa Hawkeyes. He retired in 2003 as owner of Blackhawk Crane & Conveyor and he and Kathy started wintering in Florida.

Pee Wee is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy, his children and their spouses, Robin and Susan Stiles, Kathy and Scott Heth, Kelly and Laura Stiles-Bongiorno, Scott Nolin and Corey “Joe” Nolin as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, George and Ronnie, his father-in-law, mother-in-law and his special niece, Angie.
