January 8, 1943 — June 18, 2016
Richard Leroy Proehl, 73, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, June 18, 2016, at his residence after an extended illness.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P. M. until 8:00 P.M Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. in Moline. Per his request, private family funeral services will be held followed by cremation.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Richard was born on January 8, 1943, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Henry and Adeline Huntley Proehl. He married Linda Sue Munson on March 16, 1972 in Rock Island, IL.
Richard was the owner and operator of PM Muffler in Aledo and Rock Island, IL., retiring in 2007.
During his travels, Richard enjoyed his Nascar races, along with collecting rocks and badges from different states. But most important of all, Richard loved spending time with family and friends, especially talking on the phone. If you didn’t answer when Richard called, you were in trouble.

Sons: Gilbert (Annie) Proehl Davenport, IA
Richard Proehl Moline, IL
Grandchildren; Nolan, Connor, Lauren, Alyssa, Zoe, Dakota and Jacob
Sister: Rachel (Oliver) Ivory
Brother: Robert (Mary) Proehl
Lots of nieces, nephews and numerous close friends, including family pets, Teddy and Toby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
