Richard Runge

Richard A. Runge, 69, of Davenport, passed away on March 13, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport.

Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue.

Richard was born on March 3, 1957, the son of William H. and Vera (Ullrich) Runge, Sr. He married Karen R. Schulz on August 8, 1998, in Rock Island. He was previously employed as an assembler at Deere & Co. Richard enjoyed spending his time restoring and riding Harley Davidsons. He was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan. He was known for his strong work ethic and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it. Richard also had a deep love for animals and a special place in his heart for his beloved pets, who brought him great companionship throughout the years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen; son, Stephen Runge; stepson, Brian (Theresa) Schulz; stepdaughter, Dawn (Levi) Howard; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Kathy) Runge, Jr., Scott (Bobbi Jo) Runge, Lizabeth (Jeff) Langston, Trish (Willie) Negus, Timothy (Stephanie) Runge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
