Richard "Rich" L Martin

Richard “Rich” L. Martin, 62, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away at the Good Samaritan Society in Geneseo on Sunday, June 23, 2019.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Kirk, Huggins, & Esterdahl. Ltd., Orion.  There will be a private inurnment at Western Township Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity or Shriners Hospital for Children (2211 N Oak Park Ave; Chicago, IL 60707).

Rich was born on October 18, 1956, in Moline, the son of Albert “Bus” and Arlene (Malmen) Martin.  He graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, majoring in Business.  He had been employed in sales marketing on the East coast with a Maryland finance company.

Rich was an avid baseball and football fan, especially the Chicago Cubs and Bears.  He enjoyed following sports statistics and sharing his analysis with his many friends.  He also enjoyed playing golf, tennis and cycling.  He valued his long-time friends and family and will be greatly missed.

Rich is survived by his mother Arlene, Orion, and brother Ron (Mary) Martin, Geneseo.  Also, his children, Victoria and Nicholas, reside in Bradenton, Florida.  Among his other surviving family is a special cousin, Lori Mullen, Orion.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert.
