Robert A. Morris, 90, of Lynn Center, IL died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his son's home in Moline, IL.
Private graveside services were held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Lutheran Cemetery, Orion, IL. Memorials can be made to the Cambridge American Legion Post #417 in care of Orion Bank. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bob was born on April 2, 1922 in Hollywood, CA, the son of Arthur and Louise (Gerrard) Morris. He married Florence M. Johnson on June 18, 1948 at Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover, IL. Bob served in the Army during WWII from March 18, 1941 through June 14, 1945. He served in North Africa and Italy in battles and campaigns of Tunisia, Naples Foggia, Rome Arno, Po Valley & North Appennines. He was awarded the Bronze Star & Purple Heart.
