Robert "Bob" Bowling

Robert “Bob” R. Bowling, 83, of Moline, passed away Thursday April 18, 2024, at Celebrate of Moline.

The memorial service will be 4 p.m. Monday April 22, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Monday prior to the service. Cremation rites have been accorded and private inurnment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, at a later date. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center or Elim Covenant Church, Moline.

Robert was born on October 25, 1940, in Moline, the son of Spurgeon and Madilyn Bowling. He married Karen Murphy on August 10, 1957, in Davenport. Bob was employed at John Deere as a punch press operator. He was president of UAW Local 434 for thirty plus years. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed playing 3^rd base in a softball league. He loved having yard sales, bowling, going to the casino and attending local auctions. He also loved fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Dee (Don) Raschke, East Moline, Bo Bowling, Moline, Daniel Bowling, East Moline; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brother and best friend, Jim (Joyce) Bowling; sisters, Linda (Steve) Montecino, Debbie Brooks; special nieces and nephews, Chris, Terry, Jamie; and his beloved dog, Benny.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lori Brown and sisters, Donna, Jackie, Billie, Corny.
