Robert L. Eckhardt

Robert L. Eckhardt, 76, of Davenport, passed away on April 19, 2023, at his residence.

Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life held on May 7, 2023, at the Prospect Park Pavilion from 12:30 – 3:00 p.m.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Robert was born on October 13, 1946, in Rock Island, the son of Frank and Edith Blunk Eckhardt.  He married Carol Allen in 1967 in Rock Island, she preceded him in death on December 24, 2021.  Robert was employed as a tool and die maker with both JI Case and Swan Engineering.  He was an avid duck hunter and loved to fish.  Robert was truly a man of his word and cherished the time he spent with his family and helping raise his grandson.

He is survived by his children; Kimberly Eckhardt of Davenport, Steven and Jenny Eckhardt of Orion and Kristine Eckhardt of Davenport; grandchildren; Lukas Kelley, Chancelor Eckhardt and Claire Eckhardt; brother; Jim and Sharon Eckhardt; sisters; Sandy and Bob Scheel and Joann and James Nelson.  Also, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers, Frank and Kenneth.
