Robert Lavern "Bob" Eddleman, 83, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his home in Rock Island.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2013, at First Baptist Church of East Moline, 4021 9 ½ Street, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. with an Eastern Star Service beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of East Moline or InTouch Day Care & Home Care in Moline.

Bob was born on March 15, 1929, in Moline, IL, the son of Ray and Cassie (Anderson) Eddleman. Bob graduated from UTHS in 1947 and then from the Moline Institute of Commerce having studied Accounting in 1954. He earned an Associate's Degree in Applied Science from Black Hawk College in 1974 and in Electronic Technology and Refrigeration in 1986. He married Leona Redden on September 9, 1950, in East Moline. She preceded him in death in October of 2001. Robert married Deane Knight on March 15, 2003. She passed away in February of 2011.

As a life-long member of First Baptist Church of East Moline Bob was active on various Church boards and with the American Baptist Men's Group. He was also a 50 year member of East Moline Masonic Lodge #969 A.F. & A.M. and of Rose Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. He worked from 1947 to 1955 as a Stock Clerk at John Deere Malleable. He was a cost accountant with AMETEK until 1970. Bob worked in the Maintenance Department at Black Hawk College until his retirement in 1991.

He enjoyed golfing in the East Moline Church League and he loved to fish, roller skate, and ski. He started many a day "getting fit" at the Moline Family YMCA. He was a member of the Mississippi Valley Woodcarvers Association. He also volunteered as a tutor for the Literacy Connection at Washington Elementary School in Moline. And, last but not least, the CUBS have lost one of its biggest fans!

He is survived by his daughters, Diane (Greg) Moroni, Rock Island, and Dawn Eddleman, Rock Island; grandchildren, Kristin Moroni, Grayslake, IL, Keith (Agniezska) Moroni, Wheeling, IL, Kevin Moroni, Rock Island, Kara Moroni, DeKalb, IL; sister, Karen Murphy and family, East Moline; and stepdaughter, Donna (Robert) Hamrick and family, Coal Valley. There are many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and spouses.
