Robert "Bob" G. Griffin, 63, of Sherrard, IL, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Bettendorf, Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to his family for a fund to be established for ovarian cancer.
Robert was born on April 30, 1952, in Quincy, IL, the son of William Kenneth and Doris Hedrick Griffin. He married Karen M. Miller on January 3, 1975, in Quincy, IL, and she preceded him in death on June 7, 2010. He was currently working as a superintendent for Valley Construction.
Robert was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Army. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island. He loved baseball and was a Cardinal fan. Robert especially loved to keep busy with "his" dog, Big Boy Bronx.
Survivors include his daughter, Nicole Griffin, Moline, IL; brother, Brian (Ruth) Griffin, Quincy, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
