Robert L. Kerr, age 62 of Rock Island passed away November 2, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Olivet Baptist Church in Rock Island. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd, 6601-38 Avenue, Moline. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Robert was born on March 4, 1946 in Vandalia, Missouri the son of Edward and Laura Overton Kerr. He married Yvonne Reynolds on March 19, 1965 in Rock Island.
Robert was employed as a crane operator for Operating Engineer's Local 150 retiring in 2003 after 38 years of service. He was a member of Second Christian Church in Vandalia, MO. He was an extremely family oriented man who enjoyed owning real estate and doing property renovations. He was an extraordinary cook and a master at culinary adventures.
Survivors include his wife Yvonne of Rock Island; daughter Robin Kerr, son Vance (Sherri) Kerr, daughter Venia Mallet and daughter Tera (Chad) Brewer; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Hazel Kerr and Linda Ross and brothers Curtis Kerr and Thomas Roland Kerr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
