Robert Leroy Schomer, Sr., 85, of Geneseo, IL, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at home.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert was born on October 26, 1931, in East Peoria, IL, the son of John and Matilda Brooks Schomer. He married Mildred M. Schomer on July 18, 1966, in Las Vegas, NV, and she preceded him in death in 1987. He worked for Case IH and for Goodyear for over 20 years.
Robert enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses, and making mechanical repairs.
Survivors include his children, sons, Robert Jr. (Nancy), Alan Sr. (Candy); daughters, Linda (Rob) Porter and Kathy (Ralph) Pleasant; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Kathy) Schomer, John Schomer, Mike (Diane) Schomer, and David Schomer; sisters, Judy (Hank) St. Clair, Joyce (Gary) Temple, Cindy (Duane) Prior.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mildred; sisters, Evelyn Anderson, Bonnie Barnes, and Barbara Schomer.
