Robert L "Steve" Stevenson

Robert "Steve" L. Stevenson, 94, of Orion, died on September 26, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus.
Funeral services for Bob will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Orion United Methodist Church 407 12th Avenue, Orion. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home 1301 4th Street, Orion. Burial will be in Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or to the Robert Stevenson Memorial Fund.
Bob was born on November 13, 1920 in Orion, IL, the son of William Curtis and Lena Maude Painter Stevenson. He married Emma A. Carlson on November 13, 1948. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2007.
Bob graduated from Orion High School in 1938. He still holds the record in track for the 100 yard dash. He was inducted into the Orion Hall of Fame in 2006.
Bob was retired from farming and the State of Illinois. He was a life-long member of the Orion United Methodist Church, was Past Master of Sherman Masonic Lodge #535. Bob also was a member of the Kaaba Shrine, Blackhawk Shrine, Past Worthy Patron of Orion Eastern Star #93, and was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason.
Bob enjoyed the Chicago Cubs and loved going to the sporting events of his grandchildren.
