Robert "Mr. Bob" J. Swiatkiewicz, 82, of Knoxville, IA, formerly of Moline, IL, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Homestead Assisted Living and Memory Care, Knoxville, IA.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Homestead Memory Care or to HCI Hospice.

Robert was born on January 3, 1932, the son of Stanley and Mary Schudlock Swiatkiewicz. He married Sarah Chestnut on March 26, 1960, in Moline. He later married Linda Lipke on May 31, 1991, in Moline. He worked as an advertising executive for Lee Enterprises for 20 years, retiring in 1979.

Robert was a United States Army Veteran, having proudly served during the Korean War. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline. Robert enjoyed flowers, gardening, and traveling. He also enjoyed playing tennis and golf at Indian Trails. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
