Robert "Bob" J. Smola

Robert “Bob” J. Smola, 61, of Geneseo, died Monday, February 5, 2018, at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Avenue, Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday, February 12, 2018 at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services.  Inurnment of cremains will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline, IL, at a later date.

Bob was born on October 22, 1956, in Chicago, IL, the son of Walter and Loretta Groszek Smola.  He married Lori L. Taylor on October 23, 1982, in Moline, IL. Bob worked at Deere & Co. in Risk Management and Project Management in Moline and previously in Horicon, WI.  He got an MBA from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.  Bob started his own LLC company, My Supply Chain Rocks.  He was a six sigma black belt and enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Survivors include his wife, Lori; sons, Anthony (Kayla) Smola, Idaho, and Michael (Savanna Brumstedt) Smola, Davenport; grandson, Brady Smola, Idaho; and sister, Sue (Rich) Zlatos, Lemont, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ann Marie; and brother, Thomas.
