Robert “Bob” Sondej, 71, of Sherrard, IL, died Sunday, December 3, 2017, at home.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no services. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert was born on October 20, 1946, in Mt. Carmel, PA, the son of Martin and Leona Andrewlevich. He married Vicki Jackson on August 3, 1968, in San Diego, CA. He worked as a millwright for Alcoa for 30 years, retiring in 2005.
Robert was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Navy. He loved boating and working on cars and trucks, in which he took great pride.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Sondej, Sherrard, IL; 3 sons, Dave (Chris) Sondej, East Moline, IL, Dan Sondej, Moline, IL, and Dana Sondej, Milan, IL; grandchildren, Audriana, Andrew, and Aaron; great grandchildren, Isabella, Laila, and Jeva; sister, Cynthia (Andy) Kerr.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
