Ron Schlotfeldt

Ronald “Ron” B. Schlotfeldt, 75, of Hillsdale, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.

Ron was born on July 15, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Russell and Ardelle (Peters) Schlotfeldt. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam. He married Vicky L. Wiersema on December 16, 1989, in Silvis. Ron retired from Rock Island Integrated Services at the Rock Island Arsenal as a supervisor.  He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping.  He also liked tending to his yard and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Vicky; children, Dana Morey, Lynnette Stevens, John Carlile, Chris (Nicole) Carlile, Jimmy Carlile, Russ (Sarah) Schlotfeldt, Ron Schlotfeldt II, and Travis Schlotfeldt; grandchildren, Kaleb Carlile, Madison Schlotfeldt, Aubrie Schlotfeldt, Travis Schlotfeldt, Jr., Kyler Ball, Gabriel Ball, Marissa Weiner; siblings, Lana Thoma, Dean (Norma) Schlotfeldt, Willie (Shirley) Schlotfeldt, Gail (Jerry) Kruse; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
