Ronald Lee Fredell

Ronald Lee Fredell, 84, formerly of Sherrard, passed away, May 22, 2025, at Allure of Quad Cities.

Per the family’s wishes, there are no services to be held. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment will be at Sherrard Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family with arrangements.

Ronald was born on August 24, 1940, in Moline, IL, the son of Clayton and Louella May (Hamerlinck) Fredell. He married Shirley Carol Miller on September 2, 1961, in Matherville, IL; she preceded him in death on June 6, 2022. He worked as a truck driver for Dohrn Transfer Company. Ronald was known as an avid golfer, and he enjoyed cattle farming.

Survivors include his son-in-law, Doog McDowell of Woodhull; grandchildren, Sara (Andrew) Teel of New Windsor, and Cory (Stacey Huffman) McDowell of Woodhull; one great-grandson due in June; sisters, Donna (Dick) Larson of Coal Valley, Linda (Terry) Harkey of Sherrard, and Carol (Bob) Redpath of Matherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Louella; wife, Shirley; son, Michael; daughter, Lisa; and brother, Roger.
