Rose Mae Naomi Pettifer, 89, of Moline, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at home.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time. Private family burial will be at a later time. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, or to the donor's choice.
Rose was born on Dec. 5, 1925, at home in Washburn, Ill., the daughter of Seth and Ruth Carlson Swanson. She married Richard N. Pettifer on April 3, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2012.
Rose graduated from the Lutheran School of Nursing and that led to a lifetime of nursing and caring for people. Early in her career she was a nursing cadet. Rose was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Orion Chapter and was also a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. Above all, was her love of family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Wes Pettifer, Jeff Pettifer, Jon Pettifer, Kathy (Paul) Christofferson and Sherri (Jim) Thomas; grandchildren, Chantelle Thomas, Danielle Thomas, Christopher Christofferson, Jennifer Clayes and Angie Palmer; great-grandson, Lennon; and stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard Pettifer, and a granddaughter.
