Ruby Cooper

Ruby Cooper, 98, of Moline, IL, died Monday, November 23, 2015, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2900 Avenue of the Cities, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ruby was born on October 20, 1917, in Mount Vernon, IL, the daughter of William Ashby and Lucreta Mae Thickston Monroe. She married Arley Cooper on July 8, 1934, in Concord, IL, and he preceded her in death in 1972. She worked in the book concern for Augustana College and later on in several departments for Sears.

Ruby was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She was an avid bowler. In 2004 she once bowled a 300 game. Ruby loved to dance and enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include her daughters, Arla Mae Olson, Rock Island, IL, Wilda Jo (William) Strong, Mesa, AZ, and Barbara Jean (Mike) Teigland-Williams, Rock Island, IL, and Mesa, AZ; son, Steven (Lisa) Marshall Cooper, Seffner, FL; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons-in-law, John Clyde, Phil Olson, and Silas Teigland.
