Ruby L. Franklin

Ruby D. Franklin, 68, of Moline, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Nursing Home in Rock Island.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.  Anyone wishing to attend should meet at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline for procession to the cemetery. Ruby was born on November 22, 1950, in Rock Island, the daughter of Lyle D. and Darlene (Crosby) Franklin.  She worked as an assembler and receptionist at the Opportunity Center.  She enjoyed crafts, visiting with friends, her cats, and listening and singing gospel music.  Ruby and her friend Ruth started the Big Sister Program in 1970.

Survivors include her siblings, cousins, and many friends.
