Russell Wayne Prunty, Sr.

Russell Wayne Prunty, Sr., 75, of Moline, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the funeral home.  Entombment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be conducted.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Russell who went by Wayne was born on October 5, 1947, in Macomb, IL, the son of Fred W. and Virginia (Marlow) Prunty. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Wayne married Patsy L. Surber on June 7, 1969. He was employed as a painter for International Harvester, retiring after 34 years. He also worked for 13 years as a truck driver, which he loved. Wayne was known for his sense of humor. He enjoyed vacationing in Florida, sitting on his porch relaxing and playing Yahtzee with his wife. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy; son, Russ Prunty; grandson, Joey Prunty; niece, Ashley Prunty.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gail.
