Sally C. Gersitz, 80, of Moline, IL, died Monday, August 3, 2015, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3207 60th Street, Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial of cremains will be prior to the service at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
Sally was born on May 14, 1935, in Detroit, Wayne County, MI, the daughter of David M. and Catherine Boylan Greene. She married LCol Charles "Chuck" Gersitz on April 27, 1957, in West Point, NY. They were married for 58 wonderful years. Sally was a dutiful military wife.
Sally was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Moline. There, she was a Eucharistic minister and heavily involved in the ladies activities at the church. She was involved with the Girl Scouts for many years.
Survivors include her loving husband, Charles; daughters, Liz (Tom) Winckler, Moline, IL, and Margaret (Stephen) Clark, Dixon, IL; 6 grandsons, Christian Clark, Patrick Clark, Connor Clark, and Aaron Clark, all of Dixon, IL, Jake (Alexandria) Moore, Moline, IL, and Joe (Kelly) Moore, St. Louis, MO; great granddaughter, Robyn Moore; brother, David L. (Penny) Greene, Somerset, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
