Samuel John Hedrick, 67, of Moline, passed away after a short battle with cancer on Thursday September 25, 2025, surrounded by his family at home.

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. Friday October 10, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Rock Island National Cemetery, with military honors to be conducted. Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Sam was born on December 1, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Franklin and Lorna (Wegener) Hedrick. He was a veteran, having served in The U.S. Marine Corps. Sam had worked as a Diesel Mechanic at Ruan Transportation, Wonder Bread, and Quest Liner along with various other places, retiring in 2022, after over 45 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, riding his Harley, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He adored being a dad and papa and loved being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his significant other, Cindy Palmer; daughters, Kellie (Levi) Hammond, Katie (Greg) Wessels; son, Joseph Hedrick; grandchildren, Axtynn Hedrick, Brielle Hammond, Olivia Hammond, Tate Wessels, Cole Wessels, Theo Wessels; siblings, Evelyn Stremmel, Frank Hedrick, Paul Hedrick, Karl Hedrick, Stephen Hedrick and their spouses.
