Samuel O. Moose, age 96, of Moline, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Community Christian Church, Moline or Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Samuel was born May 26, 1912 in Denver, CO., the son of William H. and Elsie (Lambert) Moose. He married Dorothy L. Ackeberg on October 22, 1960 in Tampico.
Samuel was employed as a gas service man for the former Iowa-Illinois Gas & Electric Company. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving from 1940-1945. Samuel was a member of Community Christian Church where he was a deacon. He was formerly a member of the Iowa & Illinois Recreation.Club, where he was on the baseball team; and the Quarter Century Club (Iowa & Illinois). Samuel enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, gardening and flowers.
