Sandra was born on March 22, 1946, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Robert J. and E. Lucille (Wretman) Exline. Sandie spent her entire life in Moline. She taught elementary school for 34 years and was voted "Teacher of the Year." Sandie also volunteered for the John Deere Golf Classic and Festival of Trees.
As a member of First Evangelical Covenant Church in Moline, she sang in the choir, served on the executive board, was the president of the Christian Friendliness Auxiliary, and co-leader of the Flock. Beyond her local church she was a charter member of Prince of Peace King's Daughters, and a board member for the Central Conference Covenant Women's board and Friendship Manor. Her commitment even took her on short term missionary trips to Alaska and South Africa.
She had a strong sense of family. Her cousins were her "sisters" and their children called her "Aunt." She was with them for every major holiday as well as family favorites like "Thanksmas" and "Puka Shell Day." She showed up any time someone in the family was being celebrated whether that was a big event like a wedding or a fourth grade school play. Faith and family were the key anchors in her life and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
