Sharon Kay McDonald

Sharon Kay McDonald, 83, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Bickford Cottage, Davenport.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 8, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park.

Sharon was born on February 8, 1940, in Hampton Township, the daughter of Lester L. and Anna B. (Demont). She married William Ralph McDonald, Jr. on December 21, 1958, in Oxford, North Carolina. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2001. Sharon was a loving wife and homemaker. Sharon enjoyed crocheting, gardening and fishing. She loved chocolate and was fondly known as the “Walmart Lady”. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna F. (Mark) McKay, Moline; grandchildren, Kayla (Ryan) Brix, Davenport, Jessica (Austin) VanScoy, Ely, Minnesota; great grandchildren, Kara Brix, Kaden Brix, Rogan VanScoy, and Ripley VanScoy due in June; son-in-law, Don Soseman, Rock Island; siblings, Arthur Gene (Lawanna) Stanley, Louisiana, Judy Ann Campbell, California, Ricky (Sandy) Stanley, Texas, Vicky Moore, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter, Crystal Soseman; grandchild, Travis Soseman, siblings, Maxine Wright, Elma Lorene Stanley, Bill, Betty Ann Herman, Lester, Jr., Jerry Raymond, Sandra Jean Ryerson.
