Sheilah Rhae Rickey-Jaster, 75, of Colona, passed away on September 17, 2026, at the Silvis Center.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to her family for a fund to be established. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Sheilah was born on October 5, 1950, in Moline, the daughter of Charles “Dick” and Juanita (Johnson) Rickey. She graduated as an LPN from Black Hawk College in 1996 and was a devoted nurse with Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, retiring in 2017. She was a member of the Colona Methodist Church and was a talented writer and illustrator. She also liked cooking, baking, and gardening. Sheilah cherished being with her family and all of their traditions. She was an extreme Minnesota Vikings fan.

Survivors include her daughter, Camden “Cammie” (Shawn) Carmichael of Colona; grandsons, Ethan MacMillan of Colona, Samuel (Kitrina) MacMillan of Davenport; brother, Jerry (Peggy) Rickey of Geneseo; nephew, Brad (Laura) Rickey of Geneseo; niece, Deborah Rickey (fiancé Jeff Crow) of Louisiana; great nieces Allison (Dalton) Hocever of Charlson South Carolina, Ashley Rickey of Geneseo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jeanne Rickey.

Cammie would like to share that her mom raised her alone as a single parent. Everything she is, is because of her mom. She was the strongest, most hard working, stubborn woman God ever created. She will be dearly missed.
