Sherri Gleason Shea, age 46, of Rock Island, died with a smile on her face Sunday, July15, 2012 at St. Anthony's Nursing & Rehab, Rock Island after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Memorial Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial of cremains will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Sherri's wishes are for any memorials to go to a fund to be established in her name for her children at Deere Harvester Credit Union.
Sherri Lynn was born January 12, 1966 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Charles and Patricia (Kulig) Gleason, Sr. She married Steven William Shea on May 9, 1993 in Georgia. They later divorced and he preceded her in death in 2008. She was a graduate of Moline High School, Class of 1984, where she played softball and ran track. Sherri worked as a Long Distance Operator and later in Corporate Security for AT&T from 1986 to 2002. She worked as a Pay Station Cashier of the kitchen area for Hy-Vee, Rock Island, at the time of her passing. Gardening and yard work were activities that she enjoyed. She loved her children very much.
