Shirley June Diericks-Grimmett

Shirley June Diericks-Grimmett, 66, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at her home.

Shirley was born on June 6, 1952, in Silvis, the daughter of Margariet Diericks.  Shirley graduated from United Township High School in 1970 and received her associate degree from Western Illinois University.  She had most recently been employed at Xpac in Milan, where she made lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.

Shirley dedicated her life to working hard to provide for her children.  She was a wonderful and loving woman whose greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren thrive.

Survivors include her children, Annette Diericks, Rock Island, Kristin (Davis) Grimmett-Dunbar, Jersey City, NJ, Anthony Grimmett, Rock Island, Grant Grimmett, Cedar Rapids, and Terence Grimmett, Rock Island; grandchildren, Shawndréa, Kameron, Kaydence, and Noah; granddogs, Mia & Sasha.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2018, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Cremation rites will take place following visitation.  All need to use 60th Street for access to the funeral home.
