Shirley Marie Mueller, 81, of Davenport, IA, died Friday, December 21, 2012, at Kahl Home, Davenport, IA.
Private Graveside Services will be held at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY, 10004 or to MG Foundation of California, 6055 W. Washington Blvd #350, Commerce, CA, 90040.
Shirley was born on June 25, 1931, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of William and Gertrude (Bottomly) Johanson. She married Pete Mueller in 1973 in Rock Island, IL. Shirley was Self-Employed by Federal Contractors Information Service.
Shirley was a spunky, tough Swede who gracefully battled Hodgkins Lymphoma for over six years. She enjoyed zipping around in her red sports car, jitterbug dancing, power walking, playing slots and hosting parties at her North Shore home especially on Christmas Eve. The greatest joy of her life was being around her family, who will miss their fearless matriarch profoundly.
