Susan M. McNinch

Susan M. McNinch, 71, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday May 24, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, surrounded by her loving family following an unexpected diagnosis of glioblastoma.

Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday May 31, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the funeral home.  Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quad City Music Guild, UTHS Booster Club or the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Sue was born on April 4, 1952, in Sterling, Illinois, the daughter of Roger and Doris (Snelling) Schultz. She married the love of her life, Steve N. McNinch on January 28, 1973, in Rock Falls. Sue spent many years working at Kirlin’s Hallmark in SouthPark Mall. She retired in 2004 to dedicate all her time to her grandchildren. Sue loved to shop and was known for finding the best bargains in town. She loved going out with the “Friday Night Group” and golfing with the girls on Tuesday. More than anything, she loved being with her family and attended every single event of her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, Steve; daughter, Jen (Scott) King, Kate (Jeff) Metcalf; grandkids, Andrew and Alex King, Gloria and Jackson Metcalf; siblings, Sandy McNiel, Bill (Liana) Schultz, Mary Kay (Harold) Dailey; mother-in-law, Sue McNinch; brother-in-law, Kevin McNinch; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jim Schultz.
